Head Teacher’s Welcome

The Stables Independent School is an educational provision for pupils in KS1, KS2 and KS3 (5-14 years old). We are a specialist provision supporting Looked After pupils with unmet trauma and attachment needs. We have a unique relationship with Clover Childcare Services and work in close partnership to support the children. With experience and understanding of developmental trauma, staff work with the children to help them heal and grow emotionally using the principles of DDP (Dyadic Developmental Practice) and the attitude of PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy).

We believe that home and school should work together, and parents and carers should be well informed, able to share in their child’s achievements and welfare, and able to support the school in their child’s learning.

Every member of our school community is exceptionally proud to be a part of The Stables Independent School. We have a unique and engaging learning environment and small class sizes with a high ratio of staff to pupils. The staff at The Stables are an enthusiastic and hard-working team who provide our children with a range of learning and experiences. The proprietors and senior leadership team work to provide a well-structured development process that will support the children through their time with us and prepare them well for their next placement. With an ethos of care, support and building positive relationships at the heart of all we do, children are nurtured and taught to respect, value and co-operate with all members of our school community.

We believe that all children at The Stables should have access to a broad and rich curriculum and will leave our school with an enthusiasm and readiness for their future learning.
